About The Position

The Research Scientist will conduct high-impact basic and translational research focused on pediatric blood diseases, including bone marrow failure and leukemia. The research aims to improve understanding of aberrant hematopoiesis and identify novel molecular targets to support more precise prognostication and treatment of pediatric patients. Model systems include human and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), primary patient cells, and cancer cell lines. The position advances the research goals of the Prosser-Dombrowski Lab at the Children’s Mercy Research Institute (CMRI). The scientist will conduct bench research on independent projects and support other lab projects, oversee laboratory organization and daily management, and train other lab personnel. The individual works under the principal investigator’s supervision while holding independent responsibilities in experimentation, scientific troubleshooting, grant writing, manuscript preparation, and poster presentations.
