Health Research, Inc. is seeking a Research Scientist III to work within the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH), Office of Science and Technology in the Health, Wealth & Wellbeing Unit. The incumbent will lead the planning, development, and implementation of the research and applied epidemiology analysis activities examining relationships among socioeconomic conditions, population health outcomes, and overall wellbeing, assessment, and evaluation activities that demonstrate how increased wealth improves health outcomes and general wellbeing. This position focuses on assessing community-based economic and public health initiatives and analyzing their association with population health indicators and related outcomes. This position focuses on examining and assessing community wealth building initiatives and their impact on social determinants of health, and health disparities. Specific duties will include developing comprehensive evaluation and analysis plans, including methodologies and algorithms for measuring health, economic, demographic, and community-level indicators; assessing the impact of unit programming on community health and economic indicators such as wealth; identifying, obtaining, and managing datasets; developing surveys for data collection; building and validating relevant measures; producing reports, publications, and presentations summarizing findings; collaborating with NYSDOH partners to support analytical projects; and providing technical guidance to staff.
