About The Position

We are a recently formed cell biology lab focused on studying the role cell morphology plays in signal transduction and in understanding the ways cells manipulate their shapes as a means of altering signaling towards specific cell fates. We are seeking an experienced lab manager and experimentalist to join and help shape the day-to-day operations and culture of this new laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in biology or related field, with several years’ experience in laboratory research.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in biology or related field.
• >5 years’ experience in laboratory research.
• Lab management experience.
• Ability to learn and develop protocols for new experimental techniques.
• Mammalian cell culture.
• Bacterial cell culture.
• Generation of stable cell lines via lentiviral vectors.
• Molecular cloning via Gibson assembly, restriction digest, PCR, etc.
• Fluorescence microscopy

Responsibilities

• Administrative and laboratory support duties
• Perform cell biology laboratory research
• Train laboratory members in experimental techniques

Benefits

• Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
