The Acharya lab at Seattle Children’s Research Institute is hiring a scientist to join a rapidly expanding research program on understanding signaling mechanisms regulating immune responses. Research in our group is focused on studying mechanisms that lead to efficient antibody response to viruses and how these get dysregulated during development of autoimmunity. We also collaborate with the James lab and Rawlings lab at Seattle Children’s to used gene editing technology in B cells to manipulate genes and study changes in antibody responses. For this position, we are seeking a highly motivated scientist to work with the group in performing experiments related to flow cytometry, ELISA, western blots and tissue culture experiments, and experiments involving immunization of mice and harvesting target tissues from mice. Additionally, the applicant will be responsible for data analysis, presentation of results and working together with other scientists in the group.
