We are currently seeking a laboratory-based Research Scientist with experience in oncology to join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team focused on developing gene editing tools for therapeutic applications. The successful candidate will conduct investigative studies in the preclinical development and evaluation of therapeutic candidates. This role involves performing laboratory-based investigations into novel therapeutics for the treatment of solid tumors. The position is critical in supporting Oncology projects throughout the drug discovery process. You will leverage your expertise to establish assay systems and deliver impactful datasets for pipeline programs. This includes designing, conducting, and analyzing both in vitro and in vivo experiments to assess the function of candidate drugs and to dissect the mechanisms of action of novel therapeutics. Strong project management skills will be essential for role. At the ChristianaCare Gene Editing Institute, we explore the potential of CRISPR-directed gene editing for application in oncology. Our mission is to translate innovative research from the lab to clinical practice by using CRISPR technology to improve outcomes for cancer patients.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with 4-5 years’ experience in molecular biology, biotechnology, cell biology, or a closely related field.
  • At least two first-author publications in reputable journals are required.
  • Familiarity with molecular biology and cell techniques is essential.
  • Experience with CRISPR research is a plus.
  • Direct experimentation and bench work centered on mechanisms of gene editing in oncology.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD with 0-4 years’ experience preferred.

Responsibilities
