About The Position

The University of Arkansas is seeking a Research Scientist in Chemical Engineering to join the Cardiac Systems Engineering Lab, led by Dr. Will Richardson. This role will focus on developing and applying in vitro models of cardiac remodeling for novel therapy screens. The position involves supporting day-to-day lab management, mentoring undergraduate researchers, and training students in lab procedures. The scientist will also be responsible for presenting research findings through publications and conference presentations. This position is renewable annually based on continued need, funding availability, and satisfactory job performance. Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Biomedical Engineering from an accredited institution of higher education, conferred by the start of employment.
  • Experience in cell/tissue culture.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated excellence in previous research, supported by scientific publications.
  • Experience with stem cells and 3-dimensional tissue cultures.
  • Experience with multiplexed assays for high-throughput protein measurements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply in vitro models of cardiac remodeling for novel therapy screens.
