Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • A minimum of three years of professional experience with project management, research administration, event coordination, or a related field.
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language.

  • Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with federal grant administration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates center events (e.g., training sessions, workshops, conferences) and provides effective coordination across research teams and university units; and serves as the point of contact for operational matters.
  • Coordinates center-related communications and marketing to promote programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with institutional and center branding guidelines.
  • Collaborates with the Principal Investigator (PI) and center leadership on identifying and procuring revenue-based contracts and partnerships to sustain center operations.
  • Collaborates with the PI and center leadership on the implementation of strategic plans and community-based action plans that support long-term goals; and manages operational projects as assigned.
  • Drafts and coordinates scopes of work, memoranda of understanding, and agreements for center activities, collaborations, and partnerships.
  • Collaborates with the research team on preparing, drafting, and delivering presentation materials and reports.
  • Maintains financial oversight of expenditures, encumbrances, and available balances for federal grants and foundation awards; and produces analytical reports and data visualizations to communicate budget status to PIs and stakeholders.
  • Creates subaward and contractual agreements in coordination with the Office of Research and Innovation and the Office of Strategic Sourcing; monitors subrecipient invoices and expenditures; tracks vendor deliverables; validates expenses against contract terms; and maintains documentation for audit compliance.
  • Supports research and programmatic project work as capacity allows, including language access and accessibility tasks such as participating on the translation team, reviewing translated materials, and tracking accessibility-related approvals.
  • Processes new hire paperwork for students and staff; initiates setup or modifications of costing allocations for center personnel in the institutional financial system; and provides on-site supervision support as required.
  • Engages in proactive problem solving with the team; and resolves administrative issues through coordination, reporting, analysis, and identification of solutions.
  • Serves as a liaison between the center, subrecipients, and vendors to facilitate effective communication and timely issue resolution.
  • Establishes and maintains a positive and supportive working relationship with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Demonstrates a genuine commitment to belonging in the workplace and participates in activities and workshops to foster continuous learning.
  • Serves as a mandatory reporter under Title IX; and commits to completing Title IX training and other compliance requirements on an annual basis.
