About The Position

The Encalada Laboratory at The Scripps Research Institute seeks a motivated Research Intern to assist with projects combining behavioral neuroscience, imaging, and machine learning. The intern will gain hands-on experience in neuroscience, animal behavior, imaging, and artificial intelligence in a research environment. The work includes continuous imaging of mice in their home cages and analyzing behavioral data using machine-learning approaches. A major component involves processing and evaluating large image datasets and implementing behavioral-tracking and pose-estimation pipelines using custom machine-learning algorithms. This is a year-round, part-time position of up to 19 hours per week, not a summer or other short-term internship.
