The Raoul Wallenberg Institute at the University of Michigan is seeking scholars of all academic ranks for the 2027-2028 academic year. The institute focuses on fostering values such as empathy, tolerance, leadership, and courage by studying hatred against religious and ethnic communities, promoting cross-cultural understanding, and enhancing civic discourse. Through teaching, research, and public engagement, the institute develops strategies to combat antisemitism, divisiveness, and discrimination. This fellowship supports original research, scholarship, and public-facing or community-based projects aligned with the Institute's mission. Fellows will have dedicated time and resources for their projects while contributing to the university community. The fellowships are renewable annually for up to three years. Fellows extending to the second and third years will be required to teach one course per year or contribute equivalent service. Single semester or single year fellowships are also available. The institute aims to create a dynamic and collaborative environment by attracting a diverse range of scholars and practitioners.
