About The Position

The Research Fellow in the Civil Rights Enforcement Bureau will conduct research tasks typically handled by attorneys, thereby increasing the bureau's capacity for case investigation and resolution. The fellow will be involved in pre-complaint interventions, investigations, and filing complaints when necessary. Additionally, the role includes researching public claims of discrimination and identifying patterns of discrimination. The candidate will also collaborate with other units within the CCHR to develop coordinated strategies for addressing systemic discrimination.

Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above
  • Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above

Responsibilities

  • Conducting research tasks that would otherwise fall to attorneys
  • Engaging in pre-complaint interventions
  • Conducting investigations
  • Filing complaints where appropriate
  • Conducting research on claims of discrimination made by members of the public and pattern
  • Collaborating with other units of CCHR to engage in coordinated approaches to rooting out systemic discrimination
