About The Position
Dr. Madhu Grover's Gastroenterology research laboratory is seeking a highly motivated Research Fellow to join a collaborative team focused on advancing the understanding of gastrointestinal disorders through clinical, translational, and basic science research. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in cutting-edge research techniques while contributing to discoveries that improve patient outcomes. Dr. Grover's laboratory investigates the cellular and molecular mechanisms underlying disorders of the enteric neuromuscular apparatus. The team utilizes a combination of omics technologies, molecular and cellular biology approaches, and advanced imaging techniques to identify cellular and molecular defects in human tissue samples. Research findings contribute to a deeper understanding of gastrointestinal motility disorders and the development of future diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
Requirements
- Knowledge of either clinical-based research or laboratory-based research often obtained from a postdoctoral program.
- Individuals will train in the research program of a Mayo Clinic principal investigator.
- Qualified individuals will demonstrate the potential for research as evidenced by their training and peer-reviewed publications and should become competitive for national research grants.
- Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory-based research studies under the mentorship of Dr. Grover and collaborating investigators.
- Perform experiments utilizing molecular, cellular, imaging, and omics-based techniques.
- Analyze and interpret experimental data.
- Participate in processing and evaluation of human tissue samples.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and ensure compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to manuscript preparation, abstract development, and scientific presentations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary research teams.
