About The Position

The Echocardiography Core Laboratory has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral research fellow to train in the research program of Dr. Jae K. Oh and other Core Lab staff at Mayo Clinic. The Echocardiography (Echo) Core Lab is a core laboratory of the Cardiovascular Research Center, offering third-party interpretation of echocardiographic studies for clinical trials worldwide. The lab partners with trial investigators and industry sponsors, providing echocardiography measurements for clinical investigations and trials where echocardiography is used for patient eligibility or study endpoints. Mayo Clinic's extensive experience and leadership in cardiovascular diseases and echocardiography ensure rapid, reliable, and reproducible readings with exceptional quality assurance. The lab's large staff allows for timely turnaround for trials of various sizes, from hundreds to thousands of studies. Since its inception in 1999, the Echo Core Lab has published over 1,000 papers and its faculty have contributed to writing echocardiography guidelines. Regular quality assurance meetings standardize measurements and interpretation, ensuring the high caliber of objective interpretation required for reproducible research conclusions.

Requirements

  • Must have an M.D., or equivalent doctoral degree in a field deemed relevant by the program.
  • Must have cardiology background.
  • Experience in echocardiography.
  • Experience in valve disease.
  • Experience in heart failure.
  • Proof of English proficiency is required for J-1 Short-Term Scholars, Research Scholars, Professors, Specialists, and Student Interns sponsored by Mayo Clinic.
