Research Exceptions Specialist I
About The Position
Performs various duties in the Bank's Operations- Research area. Assumes direct responsibility for performing daily reviews of High Dollar and Dormant accounts using the TRIPS system, verifying signatures, amounts, dates, and endorsements. Also responsible for reviewing and validating daily special reports. Handles research requests including those from prior acquisitions, search warrants, subpoenas, and third-party requests. Completes adjustments as requested for various entities including SRM Workflow, Correspondent Bank, JP Morgan, Federal Reserve, First Commonwealth, and BNY Mellon. Enters and maintains research/adjustment data into spreadsheets. Maintains good working relationships with bank employees, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or as a team player. Aids other Research Specialists and is involved in compiling data for the monthly productivity report. Performs additional duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent basic academic education
- Up to one-year general experience
- Manual dexterity skills for typing, and data entry up to 75% of the business day
- Specific vision requirements include close vision of 18”-20” and depth perception for computer work
- Frequent use of extremities to stand, reach, kneel, or bend throughout an eight-hour shift

Responsibilities
- Use of TRIPS system to complete daily review of High Dollar accounts
- Verify signature on check matches signature card
- Verify dollar amount is properly encoded
- Verify date is legitimate
- Verify check is properly endorsed
- Use of TRIPS system to complete daily review of Dormant accounts
- Verify signature on check matches signature card
- Verify deposit entries to dormant account check/cash
- Identify why account was removed from dormant
- Review and validate daily special reports
- Complete Research as requested (SRM Workflow Research Requests, items from prior acquisitions, search warrants, subpoenas, third party requests)
- Complete Adjustments as requested (SRM Workflow Adjustment Requests, Correspondent Bank Adjustments, JP Morgan, Federal Reserve, First Commonwealth, BNY Mellon)
- Enter and maintain research/adjustment data into appropriate spreadsheets
- Maintain a good working relationship with bank employees
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently, as well as motivated to work as a team player
- Aid other Research Specialists
- Compile data for the monthly productivity report
- Perform additional duties as required
