About The Position

Morning Consult is seeking a market research professional and team leader to join its Research Solutions team. This role requires expertise in survey research scoping, design, fielding, and analysis across various methodologies, along with strong client relationship, management, and project/team leadership skills. The ideal candidate will be adept at developing creative and impactful projects using Morning Consult's data-focused technology, collaborating with leadership to retain and expand client engagements, and ensuring client needs are exceeded. Experience in global brand tracking and/or brand and communication research, with an ability to leverage insights for strategic initiatives, is highly valued. The Research Solutions Team is integral to Morning Consult's customer-obsessed Commercial Organization, focusing on custom-designed research to drive sustainable growth and deliver high-impact intelligence at scale.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional experience in quantitative market research.
  • Proven track record of success in survey research and its methods.
  • Experience providing strategic consultation and project planning.
  • Experience delivering quality and timely project deliverables.
  • Significant experience managing clients and driving account-level revenue growth.
  • Strong prioritization and delegation skills based on the scale of impact.
  • Ability to focus on key business objectives through moments of change.
  • An effective planner who can focus their team on achieving long-term objectives and translating strategic priorities and decisions clearly.
  • Able to drive project teams to get the best output from available capacity.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop top talent; promote a positive work experience.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decision-makers without authority through compelling arguments, presentation skills, and domain expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Own client relationships for accounts of varying sizes.
  • Create research strategies that embed Morning Consult data into clients’ workflows and align with the Research Solutions team’s broader growth priorities.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and executive stakeholders to drive growth at the account-level and secure renewals.
  • Work with Account Executives to pitch, price, and deliver proposals to clients.
  • Manage large, complex research projects and programs personally and through direct reports to ensure quality data and strategic insights are delivered.
  • Effectively manage execution to ensure delivery is aligned with contracted scope of work.
  • Ensure best practices and processes are adopted to optimize efficiency.
  • Expand research expertise to develop specialized skill sets related to methodologies and/or industry knowledge.
  • Advise prospects/clients on research and survey design to obtain meaningful data and answers to key business questions.
  • Partner with other senior leaders to establish and execute strategic initiatives at the Portfolio- and/or Commercial-level.
  • Coach and mentor direct and non-direct reports, providing input into Continuous Performance Management and talent decisions.
  • Delegate effectively and empower others to execute tasks with accountability.
