About The Position

This project promotes physical activity in rural health clinics in South Texas. The Research Coordinator will plan, organize and coordinate project management activities across a variety of areas. This role will focus on overseeing administrative, operational, and coordination activities essential to the successful execution of the project. The Research Coordinator will work closely with investigators, clinical partners, and community stakeholders, playing a critical role in ensuring timely progress, organization, and communication across all components of the project. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with experts in public health, epidemiology, medicine and implementation science, gaining hands-on experience in managing complex, community-engaged research initiatives focused on cancer prevention and health promotion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required
  • 2 years of relevant experience required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with human subjects research and IRB processes
  • Experience using software for survey development and data management
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)

Responsibilities

  • Support the planning, development, and implementation of research and community-based projects, including coordinating day-to-day project operations and activities.
  • Assist with project management and administration, including maintaining project records and compliance documentation, organizing central project files, tracking progress, and ensuring project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate daily project operations by organizing meetings, trainings, and site visits; facilitating communication among project team members, clinic partners, and community stakeholders; and providing project management support to project staff, including community health workers and graduate research assistants.
  • Support the development of project materials, including protocols, training materials, recruitment plans, reports, and other project resources.
  • Assist with human subjects and project compliance activities, including the development and maintenance of regulatory and compliance documents.
  • Support data collection activities and the maintenance of project data files.
  • Assist with the preparation of scientific, research, and project-related materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
