About The Position

The Department of Population and Public Health Sciences, Division of Environmental Health is seeking a bilingual (English/Spanish), dependable, flexible, and detail-oriented individual to assist in a research study called the “Maternal and Developmental Risks from Environmental and Social Stressors (MADRES)” Study. The study is investigating the effects of air pollutants, chemicals, and stress on maternal and child health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Fluent Spanish and English writing and speaking skills are required
  • Ability to work well with different groups, including research faculty and staff
  • Strong organizational capabilities
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while managing multiple projects
  • Flexible working hours including evenings and weekends is essential
  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
  • Minimum Experience: 1 year
  • Minimum Field of Expertise: Administrative or research experience
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Demonstrated effective communication and writing skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team as well as independently

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a research environment is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Completing survey questionnaires by phone in English and Spanish
  • Reviewing questionnaire responses from participants
  • Entering data into computer databases
  • Scheduling appointments for research visits with participants and conducting research visits to conduct study procedures
  • Collecting biological specimens from participants
  • Assisting with creation of reports, study documents, and questionnaires
  • Consenting participants in Spanish and English and explaining to participants how to complete the study procedures
  • Providing administrative support to the research study staff and the study manager
  • Other duties as assigned
