The College of Pharmacy at Texas A&M University is seeking a Research Associate to join the Pharmaceutical Sciences team. Requirements

Appropriate bachelor’s degree
Two years of relevant professional experience (Master’s degree is equivalent to two years of experience)
Knowledge and ability to design, plan, conduct and coordinate experiments in support of various research projects.
Ability to evaluate, select, and apply standard research techniques and data collection.

Nice To Haves

MS degree in biological/life science
Two or more years of experience in a cancer biology/molecular biology laboratory
Experience in techniques such as cell isolation, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, ELISA, and maintenance of animal care
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat
Interest in learning new techniques
Highly motivated and organized
Strong desire and demonstrated ability to advance scientific projects
Excellent work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Responsibilities

Design research protocols for lab procedure projects, including cell isolation, cell culture, Western blot, DNA and RNA purification, PCR, ELISA, immunocytochemistry/histochemistry, and flow cytometry.
Prepare reagents.
Supervise undergraduate and/or graduate students and other laboratory, technical, or field staff involved in research.
Perform general laboratory duties such as equipment maintenance and operation, and maintaining a safe working environment.
Use computers and laboratory or technical equipment for data analysis.
Oversee and maintain an accurate inventory of laboratory animals and supplies.
Participate in general lab organization and maintenance.
Order supplies and manage inventory.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain animal care.
Perform other duties as assigned.
