About The Position

The Department of Psychology and other research centers within the department, funded by research grants, are seeking applications for Research Associate positions. These roles may be temporary or special assignments with annual terms and reappointment contingent on performance and/or funding availability. The research areas include Applied Social and Health, Cognitive, Cognitive Neuroscience, Counseling, and Industrial/Organizational psychology. Research centers within the department include the Tri-Ethnic Center for Prevention Research. The Department of Psychology serves approximately 1400 undergraduate majors and 100 graduate students, with about 30 full-time faculty across five doctoral programs: Health Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, Cognitive Psychology, Clinical Psychology, and Industrial/Organizational Psychology. The department also offers two Master’s degrees: Addiction Counseling and Applied Industrial/Organizational Psychology (online). It houses several service centers, including the Psychological Services Center, the Center for Meaning and Purpose, and the Aging Clinic of the Rockies. The Tri-Ethnic Center for Prevention Research focuses on social problems in rural areas. An externally funded occupational health psychology training program, supported by NIOSH, provides resources for graduate student education, research, and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree and less than 3 years of professional, post-baccalaureate experience (for Research Associate I).
  • More than 3 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor’s degree OR a Master’s degree and no other significant professional experience (for Research Associate II).
  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of work-related experience OR a Master’s degree with at least 2 years experience (for Research Associate III).
  • Ph.D. with no additional experience (for Research Associate III).
  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of work-related experience OR a Master’s degree with more than 5 years of experience (for Research Associate IV).
  • Ph.D. with at least 2 years experience (for Research Associate IV).

Responsibilities

  • Support grant and department research in Psychology.
  • Collecting, managing and analyzing research data.
  • Maintaining laboratory equipment, materials and documentation.
  • Additional job duties as needed by PI and faculty.
