About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University's Mellon College of Science (MCS) is seeking a talented Research Associate for the Armbruster lab. Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum one year of research lab experience required.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.

Nice To Haves

Master’s degree in quantitative biology and bioinformatics is preferred.
A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Responsibilities

May program software in support of job functions.
Attends project meetings.
Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation; writes technical reports.
May build and validate quantitative models.
Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures.
Researches and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.
