About The Position

Takeda Development Center Americas, Inc. is seeking a Research Associate II, Oncology Drug Discovery Unit. This role involves designing, executing, and troubleshooting complex experiments in oncology using molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques. The position also includes designing and executing small-molecule discovery and characterization studies, performing cell-based assays to assess compound potency and mechanism of action, and analyzing experimental data. The role requires summarizing findings, drafting scientific reports, developing and documenting laboratory protocols, managing laboratory inventory, and promoting safety initiatives. Effective time and resource management is essential to meet project milestones.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Biotechnology or related field.
  • Perform Molecular Biology Techniques (DNA/RNA Extraction, PCR, Cloning and Transfection).
  • Apply flow cytometry to analyze immune cell phenotypes and receptor binding.
  • Design and execute cell-based functional assays.
  • Develop and optimize laboratory protocols and troubleshoot experiments.
  • Prepare scientific reports, present findings, and collaborate in cross-functional teams.
  • Assay development: optimize transfection protocol and troubleshoot the Experiment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, execute, and troubleshoot complex experiments in oncology, applying molecular biology, biochemistry, and cell biology techniques (e.g., DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, cloning, flow cytometry, ELISA, western blotting).
  • Design and execute small-molecule discovery and characterization studies, including high-throughput drug screening and hit validation.
  • Perform cell-based proliferation assays and other in vitro models to assess compound potency and mechanism of action.
  • Calculate and interpret IC, DC analysis for the candidate selection.
  • Culture mammalian cells, maintain cell lines, and generate reporter or stable cell lines for in vitro and in vivo studies.
  • Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical and bioinformatic tools.
  • Summarize findings to inform research decisions.
  • Draft, review, and present scientific reports, data summaries, and slide decks for internal discussions and cross-functional meetings.
  • Develop, optimize, and document laboratory protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Monitor and maintain laboratory inventory, ensuring efficient availability of reagents, consumables, and equipment.
  • Take Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) initiatives, promoting best practices for safe and environmentally responsible research.
  • Manage time and resources effectively to meet project milestones and organizational objectives.
