About The Position

CAMP4 is leveraging a proprietary drug discovery platform to discover antisense oligonucleotides (ASOs) targeting regulatory RNAs to treat a broad range of central nervous system diseases. We are seeking a passionate Research Associate II to join the Discovery team responsible for driving a pipeline of programs. You will work closely with the Platform, Chemistry, Data Science, and Preclinical teams to generate data supporting the advancement of pipeline projects. A key responsibility for this role will be to support our in vivo pharmacology and efficacy studies to evaluate candidate ASOs. A successful candidate will apply their experience in tissue processing including RNA and protein extraction and quantification to characterize the effects of candidate ASOs on target engagement and phenotypic rescue. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated, team-oriented, and collaborative individual with outstanding organizational and communication skills. Title commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in neuroscience, cell biology, molecular biology or a similar discipline with 2+ years of industry or academic research experience.
  • Experience with molecular biology techniques including RNA isolation, QPCR, and western blot.
  • Demonstrated expertise in cell culture experimental skills; primary cell and human iPSC cell culture experience is preferred.
  • Team-oriented, highly motivated with a strong work ethic, ability to work productively in a fast-paced collaborative environment that requires a high level of organization and communication.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with immunofluorescence staining, microscopy, and ELISAs is preferred.
  • primary cell and human iPSC cell culture experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze in vivo pharmacology and efficacy studies by processing mouse tissue samples for RNA and protein (no direct animal work).
  • Execute and optimize workflows for tissue collection, homogenization, RNA/protein extraction, and downstream assays to ensure high-quality, reproducible data.
  • Support evaluation of ASO activity on RNA/protein in iPSC-derived neurons.
  • Assist in development and execution of biochemical (e.g., ELISA) and/or cellular functional assays (e.g., multielectrode array) for target validation and to assess ASO activity.
  • Provide input into experimental design, data analysis, and communication of results to the broader scientific teams.
  • Maintain detailed records of experimental design and results in electronic lab notebook.
  • Support daily laboratory operation and maintenance including preparing and ordering necessary reagents and supplies, equipment maintenance, and other periodic lab activities.

Benefits

  • medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • life and disability coverage
  • paid parental leave
  • a 401(k) plan with company contribution
