About The Position

Our client, a world leader in life sciences and biotechnology, is looking for a “Research Associate II & III - Assay Development” based in Tucson, AZ. This is a long-term contract position with the possibility of extension. The role involves conducting research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation to support Ventana projects. The associate will design, execute, and interpret experiments, applying technical expertise toward project strategies. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, summaries, and protocols, quantitative analyses, and presenting results to the team, while maintaining complete and accurate laboratory documentation in compliance with company policies (e.g., GMP, GLP, Design Control).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences
  • 2–6 years of relevant post-college job experience.
  • Proficiency in a range of specialized wet laboratory techniques (e.g., pipetting, using a balance and stir plate, etc.).
  • Capable of searching scientific literature.
  • Skilled with word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software.
  • Good communication and presentation skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Coachable.
  • Collaborative.
  • A proven ability and desire to learn.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SAFe/Agile planning processes and reporting frameworks

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experimental protocols with minimal supervision, including making observations and analyzing data.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses; maintain complete and accurate records.
  • Troubleshoot problems and institute corrective actions.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment by providing creative solutions and input to project planning.
  • Contribute to process improvement suggestions and assist in identifying patentable inventions.
  • Train colleagues and monitor work to ensure quality and continuous adherence to the Quality First Time principle.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting appropriate methods and techniques for complex problems.
