Research Associate - Early Careers Program 2027
About The Position
This is a two-year immersion program within the equity research team, commencing in Summer 2027. The program is designed to provide exposure to sector teams within the equities department, offering the opportunity to learn how companies and capital markets drive the economy. Participants will learn the fundamentals of equity research, including quantitative financial analysis and qualitative due diligence, while working alongside experienced professionals. Training will be a combination of on-the-job learning and formal instruction, covering both soft skills (e.g., presentation skills) and technical skills (e.g., modeling, Bloomberg). The role involves exposure to various company management teams and investment team meetings, with the ability to immediately contribute to the investment process and be a valued member of the investment team. Research Associates who excel will be considered for promotion to Associate Analyst upon program completion.
Requirements

- Open minded / curious and willing to ask questions.
- December 2026 or May/June 2027 Bachelor’s degree candidates in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, STEM, or Liberal Arts.
- Knowledge of financial markets, financial markets function and the impact of economic figures and national/regional/global events on markets.
- Understanding of issues relating to market abuse and anti-money laundering.
- Willingness to adhere to the provisions of our Investment Advisory Code of Ethics related to personal securities activities and other disclosure and certification requirements, including past political contributions and political activities.
- Understanding of the regulatory obligations of the firm, and abide by the regulated entity requirements and JHI policies applicable for your role.
Nice To Haves
- Previous finance-related internship/experience preferred.
- MS Excel experience.
