About The Position

The Role of the RA3 is to lead complex activities and projects in seed lab and nursery seed production, ensuring the successful execution and management of end-to-end process in seed production across multiple crops. Executes role responsibilities with seasonal supervision.

Requirements

  • Candidates must reside in and be permanently authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship. This includes, but is not limited to, OPT, CPT, and H-1B visa holders.
  • B.S. Degree in an Agriculture, Logistics, or Operations Management related discipline and/or relevant experience preferred.
  • 3 or more years previous work experience in a related field.
  • A basic understanding of plant genetics and breeding.
  • Clear understanding of the practices and procedures that affect nursery seed production quality, quantity, and timelines.
  • Demonstrated outstanding communication skills.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s history and ability to obtain a Chemical Applicators License within 3 - 6 months of hire date, is strongly recommended.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to use MS Office, especially Word and Excel, and other standard software.
  • Experience with basic lab equipment including specialized seed counters, printers, scales, and scanners.

Responsibilities

  • Functioning as an integral member of a team leading all aspects of seed lab activities including packaging, treating, seed transfers, inventory, and shipping.
  • Manage up to 30 part time staff to ensure quality, timeliness and efficiency of all seed lab processes.
  • Manage the weekly labor needs to account for current and future workload.
  • Deliver projects in a quality and timely manner.
  • Leading tasks supported with FTE staff and third-party contract labor to achieve desired results.
  • Provide daily direction and support to contract staff.
  • Provide task specific training to FTEs and contract staff.
  • Performing all tasks and behaving in a manner compliant with and in support of all safety and stewardship related company policies and practices, including completing all required company training courses.
  • Leading complex projects and deliver on key targets.
  • Understand and operate within given budget.
  • Effectively communicating regularly with peers and supervisors regarding the status of projects and work activities.
