About The Position
The University of Miami/UHealth Department of Pediatrics has an exciting opportunity for a full time Research Associate 2 to work in Miami, FL. The Research Associate 2 will be working in the Agrawal Research Lab at the University of Miami- Miller School of Medicine. This candidate will be working with rare diseases and studying genetic disorders and should be a highly motivated individual.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience
- Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.
- Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
- Basic computer skills
Responsibilities
- Performs specialized and complex experiments/studies.
- Participates in the publication of significant research results.
- Advances expertise through education, training, and research.
- Writes extramural grants/proposals to gain support when appropriate.
- Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures.
- Weighs and anesthetizes laboratory animals for experiments.
- Operates sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.
- Performs calculations to complete research test results.
- Performs photography and dark room processing.
- Participates in training sessions and workshops.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
- Maintain accurate records of research findings
- Analyzing large scale genomic data using various statistical methods
- Writing reports to summarize data and the implications of the results
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned
