About The Position

The Wistar Institute has an opening for a Research Assistant to join the laboratory of Dr. Torben Schiffner. The Schiffner lab focuses on developing advanced vaccines that induce broadly neutralizing antibodies against highly diverse pathogens, combining AI/machine-learning-assisted computational protein design with deep analysis of antibody responses in vivo to iteratively optimize next-generation immunogens. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science-related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Strong understanding of laboratory procedures.
  • Excellent technical skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Protein expression in mammalian cells.
  • Protein purification.
  • Biophysical characterization (SDS-PAGE, surface plasmon resonance, biolayer interferometry, SEC-MALS).
