We approach scientific problems from fresh angles using creative interdisciplinary approaches while drawing on our departmental strengths in the core sciences. MCS faculty members are nationally and internationally recognized for their research in a variety of fields, including polymer science, cosmology, mathematical finance, and neuroscience. The Kurnikova Lab in the Department of Chemistry is seeking a short-term Research Assistant. This role will be responsible for performing molecular dynamics simulations using AMBER and Desmond software programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Previous research experience preferred
  • A combination of education and proven experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered

Responsibilities

  • Performing molecular dynamics simulations on ANTON3 computer using AMBER and Desmond software
  • Analyzing data and writing papers
  • Following research plans in order to collect, record, and manipulate research data
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed research records and files
  • Other duties as assigned
