About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Mechanical Engineering is searching for a Research Assistant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by participating in the research and development of robot localization algorithms and computational methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred in Engineering, Computer Science or Robotics
  • 1-3 years of experience: Robot localization algorithms and computational methods
  • Research and development experience in robotics
  • A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Research and development of robot localization algorithms and computational methods
  • Responsible for setting up the hardware and software systems for robot localization
  • Testing of the developed algorithms and computational methods and reporting of the results
  • Keeping close communication with and reporting to the PI of the project and the PhD student leading the research and development effort.
  • Other duties as assigned.
