About The Position

This is a full-time, one-year limited position. Continuation of employment is contingent upon the availability of funding. The College of Veterinary Medicine seeks candidates for a Research Assistant I/II/III/IV. The research assistant position will support ongoing NIH-funded studies investigating mechanisms of alcohol-associated organ injury, with emphasis on autophagy, lysosome biology, and gut-liver interactions. The individual will assist with daily laboratory operations, experimental procedures, data collection, and research activities that help accelerate project completion and support generation of high-quality data for current and future externally funded studies. The individual will work closely with two experienced postdoctoral fellows, a part-time technician, and the Principal Investigator, contributing both technical expertise and scientific insight. The laboratory provides strong initial guidance and hands-on support to help the candidate get started. However, this role requires prior laboratory experience so the individual can quickly understand techniques, expectations, and workflows, and progress toward working independently. Daily interactions with lab members will provide continued support, feedback, and scientific discussion.
