About The Position

Carnegie Mellon University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is seeking a Research Assistant to work with simulations, experiments, and instrumentation for noninvasive fetal health monitoring. This role involves identifying and solving problems, potentially programming software, attending project meetings, performing research experiments, documenting information, summarizing statistical data, writing technical reports, and building quantitative models. The ideal candidate will use various software packages for data input, manipulation, collection, and recording of results. Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities for this position, requiring effective interaction with diverse internal and external partners with a high level of integrity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 1-3 years of Data collection and analysis experience
  • 1-3 years of Research, Lab and Methodology Experience
  • Successful background check

Responsibilities

  • Identifies problems and obstacles to progress; develops strategies to solve problems.
  • May program software in support of job functions.
  • Attends project meetings.
  • Performs research experiments following experimental protocol and procedures.
  • Research and documents information by compiling and maintaining accurate and detailed records.
  • Summarizes statistical information for analysis, examination or presentation; writes technical reports.
  • May build and validate quantitative models.
  • Uses a variety of software packages to input, manipulate, collect and record results or observations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
