Research Assistant
About The Position
This is a Research Assistant position within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Department of Criminology at the University of Ottawa. The role is classified as a Research Assistant (CUPE) and is a temporary position for the Spring/Summer 2026 semester. The work involves supporting research activities under the supervision of Michèle Diotte. The total work hours for this position are 50, with an hourly rate of $31.89 for undergraduate students and $50.25 for graduate students (2024-2025 rates, excluding vacation and statutory pay). The language of work is English and French.
Requirements
- Being able to carry out a critical literature review and a press dossier.
- Autonomy, organization, and rigor.
Responsibilities
- Producing reading summaries
- Writing a literature review
- Collecting data (media coverage)
- Participating in the coding of research material using NVivo.
