Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences - Research Assistant
About The Position
The Fred Wilson School of Pharmacy Department of Basic Pharmaceutical Sciences is committed to the education, training and lifelong learning opportunities for pharmacy students as well as pharmacists, scientists and educators that enhance the lives within our community, nation and world. The Department is dedicated to the creation, dissemination and application of knowledge gained through state of the art biomedical and pharmaceutical research that enhances understanding of disease processes and leads to the development and refinement of therapies to enhance the quality of life through improved healthcare. The applicant is expected to learn and apply biochemistry and behavioral techniques regularly in the lab. Techniques include western blot, qPCR, HPLC, rodent I.V. self-administration, micro-dialysis, conditioned place preference, and analgesic assays.
Requirements
- Must have a minimum (2.5) overall GPA

Responsibilities
- Complete all necessary training modules for working with laboratory animals
- Provide animal husbandry activities including handling, care, maintain sanitary animal housing
- Accurate and thorough recording of experiments and data in lab notebook
- Management of laboratory consumables
- Solution preparation
- Glassware cleanup and organization
- Perform other duties as assigned
