About The Position

The Conklin Lab conducts population-based epidemiologic studies with a focus on cardiovascular risk factors, gender and social determinants. The Research Assistant/Tech 3 will support data-driven research involving systematic literature reviews and meta-analysis. The role involves coordinating data extraction and cleaning, conducting meta-analysis, supporting manuscript and report preparation. Ideal candidates will have a background in epidemiology and/or public health.

Requirements

• Completion of a relevant technical program or a university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum three years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degree in epidemiology, public health, health sciences, statistics, or a related field.
• Coursework or experience with evidence synthesis, epidemiologic methods, quantitative research, or health data analytics.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with statistical software (R, STATA, SAS, or Python).
• Experience with systematic reviews and meta-analysis methodology.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research setting

Responsibilities

• Perform systematic literature review and meta-analysis, including extracting data from included studies and preparing datasets for meta-analysis
• Conduct meta-analysis utilizing complex statistical techniques, including subgroup and sensitivity tests relevant to social determinants of CVD risk factors.
• Prepare results for manuscript preparation and reports.
• Presents research findings to the PI and other lab members.
• Provide training and/or guidance to new lab members (e.g., students, volunteers) on routine procedures and the use of lab tools.
• Assist with data management activities (including, but not limited to: data cleaning, coding variables, and preparing documentation) or with descriptive and inferential data analysis under supervision (e.g., using R, SAS, or STATA) as needed.
• Perform other duties to support ongoing research projects and the Lab including participation and assistance in project team meeting and general administration as needed
