The Integrated Research Center for Infectious Diseases is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Research Assistant to provide laboratory support and high-level technical assistance to laboratory staff. The successful candidate will support daily laboratory operations, contribute to ongoing research projects, and assist with regulatory and administrative responsibilities. The Division of Infectious Diseases is led by Division Director Susan L. Koletar, MD and is comprised of 28 faculty, and 4 advanced practice providers. The Division is committed to providing comprehensive patient care, engaging in high quality research and offering innovative medical education to medical students, post-doctoral trainees and professional colleagues. Approximately 8,800 consults were seen last year for patients with a wide range of serious and life-threatening infections. The division has seven consult services: 3 general ID services, 1 transplant (solid organ), 2 James Cancer Center services, and 1 at OSU East Hospital. Our two-year ACGME accredited Fellowship Program prepares trainees to be consultants in infectious diseases, with fundamental training for a career in academic infectious diseases. The Infectious Diseases Clinical Trials Unit, a National Institutes of Health-designated research site for the treatment of HIV and AIDS, and continuously funded since 1987, anchors a robust research program. Clinical and scholarly activities are enhanced through collaborations with a number of internal and external partners, including the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, College of Public Health, Columbus Public Health and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.
