Research Assistant II, Rare Disease Translational Center

The Jackson Laboratory•Bar Harbor, ME

About The Position

The Rare Disease Translational Center (RDTC) at The Jackson Laboratory develops clinically relevant mouse and cell-based/in vitro models with clinical mutations and uses them to study disease and test potential therapies, including gene therapy and RNA-based treatments. The Research Assistant II supports preclinical studies by characterizing disease in research models and generating high-quality data. Work spans phenotyping and molecular workflows, including tissue collection, histology, microscopy and quantitative image analysis, molecular assays, and omics approaches such as RNA-seq and proteomics. The role owns defined workstreams from start to finish and contributes to translational research decisions. The RDTC works with foundations and their basic and clinical research teams in support of The Jackson Laboratory’s mission to discover precise genomic solutions for disease and improve human health.
