About The Position

The Department of Medicine's Infectious Disease Division is seeking a Research Assistant II to support epidemiological studies and other population-based research that is not related to clinical trials or laboratory work. The role also assists with reporting and developing new research proposals and trains and orients staff. The position is onsite at 20 Shattuck Street, with a 40-hour scheduled workweek and a day shift. Patient care is not required.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in science required; relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
1–2 years of relevant research and data management experience.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Careful attention to detail.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
Intermediate computer literacy, including database tools.
Knowledge of data management programs.
Ability to follow directions, exhibit professionalism, and work more independently.

Responsibilities

Collect, manage, manipulate, analyze, and report data.
Manage study cohorts.
Communicate with study subjects, conduct mailings, follow up on mailings, and obtain necessary documents.
Assist with preparing progress reports that include basic prescriptive statistics.
Gather information to support development of future research proposals.
Train and orient new staff.
