About The Position

The Eating Anxiety and Treatment laboratory in the Department of Psychology at the University of Louisville is seeking a full-time Research Assistant II to support clinical and non-clinical studies focused on eating disorders. The position is 40 hours per week and pays $17 per hour. The role includes helping with research design and organization, data collection and management, grant applications, communications with research sites and participants, supervision of research assistants, and general laboratory organization.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in a related field and one or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Very good competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SPSS, and Redcap.
• Ability to communicate with clinical and non-clinical populations.
• Good competency in following detailed research protocols to collect data.
• Sociable, self-motivated, organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong technical and computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, computer science, or engineering.
• At least two years of psychology research experience or lab management experience.
• Interest in psychological research.
• Experience working with clinical populations.
• Commitment of at least one year, extendable depending on fit and funding availability.
• Ability to supervise undergraduate and graduate research assistants.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with clinic research sites and participants by email, in person, and over the phone.
• Assist with project design and organization.
• Assist with data collection in the laboratory, online, and in the clinic.
• Assist with grant applications.
• Enter and code data.
• Supervise undergraduate and graduate assistants.
• Maintain databases.
• Purchase supplies and perform general organizational activities.
