About The Position
The Plebanek Laboratory focuses on investigating how dendritic cells and macrophages impact anti-tumor immunity and tumor progression. Towards this end, we use a wide array of molecular biology and functional genomic approaches to identify potential points of intervention to prevent immune dysfunction.
Requirements
- Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Tumor immunology and cancer biology
- Three to five years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in overseeing research projects and laboratory operations
- Operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory equipment
- Performing specialized and difficult analytical and research techniques
- Designing research experiments in an area related to research being performed
Nice To Haves
- Four-year college degree in a related field
- 3+ years of laboratory experience and/or MS in a related field is desired but not required.
- Interest in tumor immunology
- Independent experience in a molecular biology research lab
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Some experience using multi-parameter flow cytometry
- Some experience working with murine models
Responsibilities
- Assist in coordinating laboratory studies, executing experiments, and analyzing data for the various research projects within the laboratory.
- Maintain laboratory records and documentation.
- Write and optimize experimental protocols.
- Ordering laboratory reagents
- Assisting in murine colony management
- Maintaining laboratory equipment
- Training new laboratory members
- Communicating data with laboratory members and supervisors
