About The Position

The Research Assistant I works independently under the supervision of Vikram Khurana, MD, PhD, and a senior researcher in the Khurana lab. Depending on project needs and the candidate’s skills, the role may involve molecular biology bench work and development or optimization of viability and toxicity assays in neurons derived from induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs). Methods include flow cytometry, longitudinal neuron imaging, plate-based live-cell and calorimetric assays, and western blotting. The position supports the Principal Investigator and study team through routine experiments using established methods, data collection and management, and other assigned research activities. The candidate is expected to be diligent, highly organized, and collegial. The position also supports epidemiological and other population-based research, including study cohort management and communication with subjects.
