The Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics is seeking a Research Assistant to support a prospective study of mood and other neuropsychiatric symptoms in people with multiple sclerosis (MS). The study combines clinical questionnaires with structural and functional brain imaging to investigate how MS-related brain changes contribute to neuropsychiatric symptoms. The Research Assistant will assist the Principal Investigator and study team with research coordination, participant recruitment and enrollment, data collection and management, and other study activities. Participants will be contacted primarily by telephone and virtually. The position requires strong patient-facing communication, sensitivity when discussing mood and other symptoms, and reliable follow-up throughout each participant’s study involvement. The Research Assistant will review questionnaire completion and follow established procedures for concerning responses. Results that meet predefined safety criteria must be promptly communicated to the Principal Investigator and study physicians. The role works closely with the Principal Investigator, Isaiah Kletenik, MD, and other investigators at the Center for Brain Circuit Therapeutics and Brigham Multiple Sclerosis Center, and includes participation in regular study meetings. Additional work includes maintaining study and recruitment records, monitoring data completeness, and assisting with IRB and regulatory documentation. This is a regular, full-time hybrid position with a day shift, based at 60 Fenwood Road. Patient care is not required. Candidates completing a bachelor’s degree may have six months from their hire date to provide degree-equivalency verification, or up to one year if starting per diem.
