The Sustainable Cities Institute (SCI) is an applied think tank focused on sustainability in cities. We work across disciplines to redefine higher education delivery, conduct applied and policy-relevant research, and serve the public in designing and developing sustainable, resilient, and livable cities. Our work is consistently applied, multi-disciplinary, and sustainability-focused. The Urbanism Next Center at the University of Oregon researches and convenes global partners to understand the impacts of new mobility, urban delivery, and autonomous vehicles on the built environment. We explore implications on equity, health, safety, the economy, and the environment to inform decision-making that supports community goals. Urbanism Next brings together experts from planning, design, development, business, and law, and collaborates with public, private, and academic sectors to create positive outcomes from impending changes and challenges. Urbanism Next is a rapidly evolving organization with an entrepreneurial spirit, offering opportunities for change and growth to research staff. This position is for a pro-tem research/project management role, with appointments up to one year, potentially renewable for up to three years based on need, funding, and performance. The role involves conducting research or project management under the direction of a principal investigator.
