About The Position

The University of Oregon’s Urbanism Next Center seeks to create a pool of qualified candidates to fill periodic vacancies for pro-tem research/project management positions. These are funding-contingent, temporary assignments with an appointment of up to one year, potentially renewable for up to a total of three years. Appointments will be as research assistants or associates, conducting research or project management under the direction of a principal investigator. The Sustainable Cities Institute (SCI) is an applied think tank focusing on sustainability in cities, working across disciplines to redefine higher education delivery, conduct applied and policy-relevant research, and serve the public in designing sustainable, resilient, and livable cities. The Urbanism Next Center specifically researches the impacts of new mobility, urban delivery, and autonomous vehicles on the built environment, exploring implications for equity, health, safety, the economy, and the environment. Urbanism Next fosters an entrepreneurial spirit and offers opportunities for change and growth.

Requirements

  • Master’s in Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, or a related field. In exceptional circumstances, a Bachelor’s degree and significant professional experience in a relevant field may substitute.
  • Experience with applied research.
  • Professional experience in applied research and ability to work with other faculty, staff, and clients at the University of Oregon.
