About The Position

The German and Scandinavian Department at the University of Oregon seeks to establish a pool of qualified candidates interested in Pro Tem Instructor positions. Depending on departmental needs and candidate qualifications, Pro Tem Instructors may teach undergraduate courses in German language and culture. Instructors are expected to provide high-quality instruction, maintain regular communication with students, and contribute to an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Positions are limited duration appointments potentially renewable for up to a total of three years, based on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and continue until positions are filled.

Requirements

  • Fluency in German.
  • Master's degree in German or related field.
  • One (1) year post-secondary instructional experience.
  • Ability to work effectively with faculty, staff, and students from a variety of diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to contribute to institutional diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.
