About The Position

The University of Florida College of Nursing invites applications for a Research Assistant Professor position. This is a 12-month, full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure-accruing faculty appointment with a renewable annual contract. Initial appointment funding is available for up to two years; continuation beyond this period will be contingent upon meeting established performance expectations and securing research funding support. We seek creative, collaborative, and highly motivated nurse researchers whose expertise aligns with nursing science and health outcomes research. Successful candidates will contribute to the College's research mission by developing an innovative program of research and scholarship and actively collaborating with interdisciplinary research teams. Candidates should demonstrate strong research skills, a record of peer-reviewed publications, experience contributing to externally funded research, and the potential to establish an independent and externally funded research program.

Requirements

  • Earned PhD in Nursing or a Master's degree in Nursing with a PhD in a health-related field.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Research interests that align with the College of Nursing's research pillars.
  • Demonstrated potential to contribute to interdisciplinary research and scholarly activity.

  • Completion of postdoctoral research training.
  • Evidence of scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications.
  • Experience conducting collaborative research within interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary teams.
  • Emerging record of extramural grant activity.
  • Experience mentoring students, trainees, or junior investigators.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a focused program of research that advances nursing science and improves health outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty investigators and interdisciplinary research teams in the design, implementation, and analysis of research studies.
  • Prepare and submit competitive extramural grant applications as Principal Investigator (PI) and/or Co-Investigator.
  • Disseminate research findings through presentations at scientific conferences and publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
  • Contribute to the College's educational mission through guest lectures, classroom teaching activities, and/or the mentorship of undergraduate honors, doctoral, and postdoctoral trainees engaged in research.
  • Participate in College, University, and professional service activities, as appropriate.
