About The Position

The University of Florida College of Nursing seeks qualified applicants for non-tenure track clinical faculty positions at the rank of Clinical Lecturer, Clinical Assistant Professor, or Clinical Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience. The positions are for full-time, twelve-month, 1.0 FTE faculty. Part-time, evening and weekends, or 9-month appointments will also be considered. Priority will be given to applicants who have expertise in teaching undergraduate skills and simulation in the laboratory setting. New educators are also strongly encouraged to apply. These positions are primarily located in Gainesville, Florida. Selected positions are also available on the Jacksonville campus, depending on programmatic needs. These are not remote or online faculty positions.

Requirements

  • Clinical Lecturer: MSN from an accredited institution by date of hire. Current RN license; Florida licensure eligible and obtained by date of hire. Recent clinical experience in area of expertise. Evidence of effective teaching or demonstrated potential for success as a clinical faculty member.
  • Clinical Assistant Professor: Doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution for applicants holding an EdD or PhD. Current RN or APRN license; Florida licensure eligible and obtained by date of hire. Recent clinical experience. Evidence of effective teaching or demonstrated potential for success as a clinical faculty member.
  • Clinical Associate Professor: Doctoral degree (DNP, EdD, PhD, or equivalent) from an accredited institution. Master's degree in nursing from an accredited institution for applicants holding an EdD or PhD. Current RN or APRN license; Florida licensure required by date of hire. National certification in specialty area, as applicable. Sustained record of excellence in teaching and student mentorship. Evidence of scholarship and professional contributions consistent with appointment at the associate professor rank. Demonstrated service contributions at the college, university, clinical, and/or professional level. Recent and ongoing clinical expertise in area of specialization.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience teaching in BSN program.
  • Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) credential, or goal of earning CHSE credential within 2 years.
  • Experience with simulation and clinical instruction.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate nursing students.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate laboratory and simulation in the BSN program as assigned.
  • Collaborate with faculty teaching teams to ensure excellence in instructional delivery and student outcomes.
  • Participate in curriculum development, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities.
  • Maintain clinical expertise and appropriate professional credentials.
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students.
  • Engage in continuing professional development to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • For assistant/associate professor ranks, participate in scholarship related to clinical practice or nursing education.
  • Provide service to the College of Nursing, University, profession, and community consistent with assigned rank.
