About The Position

Provide support to CNIB’s national advocacy team by conducting research and supporting public policy and advocacy initiatives.

Requirements

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with Ontario legislation and regulations.
  • Demonstrates interest in advocacy, disability rights, and public policy.
  • Advocacy knowledge and experience.
  • Strong writing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Mature and responsible.
  • Able to work independently.

  • Candidates who are post-secondary students or recent graduates in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in organizing CNIB's national advocates and the wider community to support national advocacy initiatives.
  • Create materials, guides, and toolkits to implement national advocacy initiatives for regional and local CNIB advocacy staff.
  • Conduct research to support CNIB’s national advocacy initiatives.
  • Coordinate public outreach efforts with regional and local CNIB advocacy staff.
  • Provide communication support such as content creation, key messages, and social media.
  • Track and organize information related to CNIB stakeholders and target audiences.
  • Support CNIB public policy initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
