About The Position

CAMH is seeking a full-time, one (1) year contract Research Assistant 2 to provide support to the Slaight Family Centre's research team and projects. The Slaight Family Centre focuses on youth in transition who are at-risk for, or at early stages of severe mental illness, aiming to improve recovery through new treatments, early detection, and clinical brain research. The Research Assistant 2 will support clinical, community, and health research studies by assisting with participant recruitment and engagement, data collection and management, research coordination, and qualitative and quantitative analysis. This role involves working independently and collaboratively within interdisciplinary research teams to ensure accurate implementation of research protocols, maintain high-quality research data, and prepare research outputs while adhering to ethical, regulatory, and institutional requirements.

Requirements

  • Provide support to the Centre’s research team/projects.
  • Support clinical, community, and health research studies through participant recruitment and engagement.
  • Assist with data collection and management.
  • Perform research coordination.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analysis.
  • Contribute to the accurate implementation of research protocols.
  • Maintain high-quality research data.
  • Prepare research outputs.
  • Ensure compliance with ethical, regulatory, and institutional requirements.
  • Assist the research team on a number of research related activities including: participant screening, recruitment, education and dissemination of information about studies to patients, families and mental health professionals.
  • Liaise with clinicians/treating psychiatrists to facilitate recruitment.
  • Facilitate recruitment for multiple studies.
  • Participate in projects/tasks as assigned.
  • Schedule participant interviews.
  • Assess patients for potential involvement in research.
  • Accompany participants for laboratory/MRI visits as well as other procedural visits, as needed.
  • Prepare and maintain participant records.
  • Maintain study databases (ex: REDCap).
  • Perform data entry.
  • Maintain databases.
  • Prepare data for presentations and peer-reviewed research papers.
  • Assist with regulatory submissions.
  • Support in the preparation of progress reports and power point presentations.
  • Perform other administrative duties.
