The Research Assistant will support an NIH-funded research study on the impact of psychosocial stress and cardiorespiratory fitness on brain health and mental health in Black emerging adult college/university students. This role involves conducting informed consent and screening, providing technical support, maintaining minor equipment, organizing and archiving datasets, and performing data collection. Data collection activities include cardiorespiratory fitness testing, collecting and analyzing actigraphy data, assisting with structured interviews on mental health, trauma history, and perceived discrimination, and assisting with community engagement tasks as needed. This individual will work closely with the postdoctoral fellow. The candidate should have relevant prior experience in an academic research setting and experience working with a diverse research team and interacting with diverse groups of research participants. This position may be well-aligned with individuals considering future doctoral study, given the research exposure and technical work involved.
