About The Position

The Oklahoma Biological Survey is a research unit of the University of Oklahoma that is committed to providing the best available information on biodiversity in the state of Oklahoma. We are also committed to training students and the public in biodiversity science. This position will be responsible for our department’s public interactions, both online and in-person.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 24 months of related research experience.
  • Will accept 48 months of related experience in lieu of the Bachelor's degree for a total of 72 months of related experience.
  • Background check required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate outreach events, including the department’s 100-year anniversary celebrations.
  • Maintain our department’s website and social media accounts.
  • Write our department’s quarterly eNewsletter.
  • Manage the Oklahoma Natural Areas Registry, a voluntary landowner conservation program.
  • Make site visits across the state to access properties for their conservation value.
  • Assist with biological surveys.
