About The Position

Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is offering multiple Research, Analytics & Strategy internship opportunities in the NYC area for Fall 2026. These internships are designed to provide interns with real-world experience in data analysis, consumer insights, and strategic research within the news and media industries. The selected interns will be expected to work in the office on a regular cadence based on their manager's schedule. Example internship roles include CNN Data Science Intern and CNN UX Research Intern.

Requirements

  • Passion for data & analytics, news, emerging technology, and media trends.
  • Curiosity to explore data and a drive to understand the 'why'.
  • Attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Project and time management skills; ability to be organized and proactive.
  • Knowledge in/experience with PivotTables and essential Excel analysis formulas (including IF, VLOOKUP, COUNT, SUMIF).
  • Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required).
  • Must be a rising Junior or rising Senior undergrad student (18 years or older).
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA). A transcript will be required to verify GPA if an offer is extended.
  • Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship.
  • Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking and analyzing key performance and engagement metrics across Digital platforms and products, and in the broader news and information landscape.
  • Conducting comprehensive research on consumer behaviors and insights, including demographic analysis.
  • Identifying industries that benefit or are harmed the most by current consumer trends.
  • Assisting department analysts with daily performance reports, including tracking daily top stories on CNN and running Nielsen ratings reports for CNN and its competitors.
  • Producing CNN Original Series and Films dashboard reports.
  • Updating existing trackers with the performance of CNN's content across the WBD portfolio.
  • Assisting with primary research projects, including producing surveys for viewer feedback and testing potential titles for new program launches.
  • Helping manage the team's ePoll Market Research submissions schedule.
  • Assisting with the team's data visualization and automation projects.
  • Embracing learning new skills, tools, and analytical techniques.
